Roco Kingdom Walkthrough: Main Story Route and Blockers
A spoiler-light Roco Kingdom walkthrough: the main story checkpoints, the systems each arc unlocks, and the blockers that stop new players.
Roco Kingdom's main story is less a linear campaign than a sequence of unlock gates. Each arc hands you a system, then asks you to use it in the next region. The fastest route is to finish the current arc before exploring, because the story rewards include the mounts, handbook pages and home that make exploration efficient.
This walkthrough is spoiler-light. It names the checkpoints and the blockers, not the plot beats.

The route at a glance
| Arc | What you do | What it unlocks | Common blocker |
|---|---|---|---|
| Prologue | Academy intro, starter choice, first capture | Battle, capture, first map | None; follow the prompts |
| Opening arc | First town, handbook lessons, first boss | Mounts, teleport network, Dimo | Skipping handbook lessons |
| Farmland arc | Windmill region, home teaser, coin quest | Home access around level 30 | Spending the opening coin balance |
| Academy arc | Handbook chapter, rare seeds, friend quest | Breeding, social systems | Friend timer |
| Snow / dragon arc | Higher-level regions, awakening | Awakening, endgame loop | Underleveled team |
| Endgame | Weekly bosses, PvP, legendary encounters | Long-term progression | No fixed route |
The exact arc names and level gates can change in the global build. The order is stable.
Prologue: do not rush the prompts
The prologue teaches capture, battle and the first map interaction. It is short, but it introduces two systems that are easy to misunderstand:
- Energy, not PP. Every skill costs energy. The tutorial will not punish you for spamming the biggest attack; the first boss will.
- Star Magic. The stun spell is used for capture and for boss shields. Practice the charged hit on a wild Jinie before you need it in a boss fight.
Pick a starter and move on. The starter guide covers the trade-offs, but the prologue is not the place to optimize.
Opening arc: handbook first, story second
The opening arc's job is to unlock the map. Do the Wizard Handbook lessons as they appear; they are the fastest player experience and they introduce the rare-seed stages.
Then follow the main story until you receive Dimo. Dimo is a flexible attacker that remains useful into the mid-game, so give it a real skill set rather than treating it as a temporary body.
Before you leave the arc:
- Activate every tower and teleport point you pass.
- Capture the water mount.
- Keep the starter bird in the party for future flight.
- Do not spend the opening coin balance on cosmetics.
The map guide covers the traversal order.
Farmland arc: the coin decision
The farmland arc introduces the home and a large one-time coin source. In the Chinese version, this is where players are warned not to burn the roughly 990,000-coin drawer on early cosmetics.
Your priorities:
- Storage or bag space.
- A traversal upgrade that removes a bottleneck.
- Story-required purchases.
- Nothing cosmetic.
If a quest asks for a payment you cannot afford, stop and do a short coin loop instead of selling materials you will need later. The money guide has the route.
Academy arc: the friend timer
The academy arc introduces the handbook's later chapters and the social systems. The Chinese version requires both players to have been friends for a set period (reported as five hours) before a friend quest completes.
That is a real-time gate, not a skill gate. Add friends early, even if you do not plan to co-op that day. The co-op guide covers the requirements.
Around the same band, the home unlocks and breeding becomes available. Do not start a breeding project before you have a team slot to fill. The breeding guide explains the pairing rules.

Snow and dragon arcs: the level wall
The later regions raise the level requirement and the damage checks. Two things cause most stalls:
- Underleveled player. Your Jinies disobey if they outlevel you by more than ten levels. Raise the account, not just the carry.
- Single-type team. A region full of resistant Jinies walls a mono-type team. Add a second damage type before you enter.
Do the handbook and rare-seed stages, then push the story. If a boss blocks you, read the boss guide before you spend a full Vitality bar on retries.
Endgame: no fixed route
After the main story, the game opens into weekly bosses, PvP, breeding projects and legendary encounters. There is no correct order. Pick one long-term project and one weekly routine, and let the rest wait.
The endgame guide covers the loop.
Quest blockers and fixes
| Blocker | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Quest marker missing | Prerequisite handbook lesson | Open the handbook and finish the current page |
| NPC will not talk | Wrong time of day or weather | Change time at an anchor or use a weather statue |
| Friend quest stuck | Friend timer not elapsed | Wait; add friends earlier next time |
| Boss one-shots the team | Shield not broken or level gap | Star Magic break, then level the account |
| Vitality at zero after teleport | Known beta bug | Check the bar; avoid teleporting right after accepting a main quest |
The Chinese version's level 30 home unlock is a useful target, not a universal rule. The global beta can move it. Check the handbook's current page.

FAQ
How long is the main story? The Chinese version's story is dozens of hours if you explore between arcs. A focused route is much shorter, but the level gates force some side activity.
Can I skip side quests? Yes, except the handbook lessons and the friend quest. Those unlock systems.
Is the walkthrough spoiler-free? This page avoids plot details. It names systems and checkpoints only.
What should I do after the story? Pick a weekly boss route, a PvP team and a breeding project. The endgame guide covers the rest.
