Roco Kingdom Progression Guide: Levels and Unlocks
What to prioritize at every Roco Kingdom level band, from the first hour to the level 30 home unlock and the 40+ awakening grind.
Roco Kingdom has two levels that matter: your player level and each Jinie's level. Player level gates the story, the map, obedience and most systems. Jinie level gates raw combat power. If you only raise one, you create an account that can reach a region but cannot fight in it, or a Jinie that refuses to obey because it outlevels you by more than ten.
This guide maps the progression bands and the one decision that matters in each. It is based on the Chinese launch version and the global beta structure; exact unlock levels are marked beta / unconfirmed where the global client may differ.

The short version
- 1–20: story and Wizard Handbook. Do not grind wild battles.
- 20–30: fill the team, unlock mounts, push player level 30 for the home.
- 30–40: build one coherent six-Jinie team and start breeding.
- 40–50: awaken your main damage dealer and clear the harder boss loop.
- 50+: bloodline and PvP become the long-term projects.
The exact level where each system opens can move. The order is more stable than the number.
Why player level beats Jinie level early
Obedience is the hidden wall. In the Chinese version a Jinie more than ten levels above your player level disobeys in battle, which can mean lost turns or refused commands. A high-level capture feels like a shortcut until it refuses to attack at the worst moment.
The fix is boring: keep your player level ahead. Story quests, handbook lessons and first-time captures all raise it. Grinding wild battles raises your Jinies faster than your account, which is exactly backwards.
Before you invest in a new capture, check its level against yours. If it is more than ten levels higher, either raise your player level first or accept that the Jinie is a collection piece until you catch up.
Level bands and priorities
| Player level | Main unlock | Spend your time on | Avoid |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1–10 | Capture, first map, starter | Prologue, first handbook lessons | Side quests with no experience reward |
| 10–20 | More handbook pages, first mounts | Story, new species captures, water mount | Building a second team |
| 20–30 | Bosses, rare-seed stages, home around 30 | Player level, one main damage dealer | Perfect talents, cosmetic spending |
| 30–40 | Breeding, first coherent team | Six-Jinie team, egg queue, daily loop | Spreading levels across twelve Jinies |
| 40–50 | Awakening, harder bosses | Main carry awakening, type coverage | Chasing every tier-list pick |
| 50+ | Bloodline, PvP ladder, long-term projects | One PvP team, one breeding project | Resetting projects every patch |
1–20: buy the foundation
The first twenty levels are a tutorial in disguise. Finish the prologue, pick a starter, unlock capture and complete the handbook lessons as they appear. Capture every new species you walk past; first-time captures are one of the best experience sources in the game.
Do not stop to build a balanced team. You do not have the roster or the resources. One damage dealer, one body that can take a hit and one mount is enough.
20–30: remove friction
This is the traversal band. Unlock the water mount, the first flying mount and the teleport point in every region you enter. A minute saved on every quest compounds faster than a 5% damage increase.
Around level 30 the home and breeding loop opens in the Chinese version. That unlock changes the game from a story campaign into a resource engine. If you are close, push the last level before you start a breeding project; you cannot use the system before it exists.
The map guide covers the route order, and the beginner guide covers the first-session checklist.
30–40: build one team, not six projects
The mid-game asks for a coherent six. Pick one plan: burst, sustain, status or weather. Level the core three first, then fill the last slots with answers to what your core cannot kill.
The best team guide has sample structures. The important progression rule is simpler: every level you put into a Jinie that is not in your main six is a level you did not put into the team that clears content.
Breeding belongs here too. A first egg queue runs while you do story and dailies, so start it as soon as the home opens rather than waiting for a perfect pair.
40–50: awaken the carry
Awakening is the next power spike. In the Chinese version it sits in the 40–50 band, and the resource cost is high enough that you should commit to one main damage dealer rather than spreading materials.
Before you awaken anything, finish the cheap upgrades: skills, nature, talent, hold items if the global build has them. Awakening a Jinie with the wrong nature is an expensive way to learn that nature matters.
50+: the long tail
The Chinese version's long-term systems include bloodline awakening, nature modification and the PvP ladder. These are not required to finish the story. They are the reason to keep playing after it.
At this point progression becomes portfolio management: one PvP team, one breeding project, one boss route. The endgame guide covers the loop in detail.
The experience sources that actually matter
- Story quests. The largest single blocks of player experience, and they unlock systems.
- Wizard Handbook lessons. Fast, repeatable and easy to forget.
- First-time captures. Every new species is a one-time bonus.
- Evolutions. Evolving a registered species gives another bonus in the Chinese build.
- Rare-seed stages. Repeatable encounters that combine experience and collection.
- Bosses. Good experience, but only when you can clear them without wasting Vitality.
- Daily tasks. Small per day, large over a month.
If you are behind on player level, do the handbook and capture new species. If you are behind on team power, do story and boss upgrades. Do not confuse the two.
When to stop leveling a Jinie
Stop when it can clear its role in your current content. A support does not need to be max level; it needs to survive one hit and cast its utility. A damage dealer needs enough levels to kill before it runs out of energy.
This is why spreading experience across six equally is a trap. Two carries at the current cap beat six Jinies at 70% of it.
Beta vs launch planning
The global test is a data-wipe test. Use it to learn the unlock order, not to hoard. On launch, the same route applies, but the resource planning guide becomes more important because wasted Vitality has a real cost.
A guide written for the Chinese launch may say level 30 for the home. The global beta can move it. Check the in-game handbook before you plan a session around an unlock.

FAQ
What is the max player level? The Chinese launch version has a long progression beyond 50, with the cap raised across seasons. The global beta cap is unconfirmed.
Should I level all six team members equally? No. Level the core two or three first, then bring the supports up to the point where they survive.
Do I lose progress at the end of the beta? Yes. Characters and progress are deleted within 30 days after the test ends.
Is the home really at level 30? That is the Chinese launch timing. Treat it as a target band, not a guarantee for the global build.
