Roco Kingdom Breeding Guide: Eggs, Nests and Inheritance
How Roco Kingdom breeding works: unlock the home, pair egg groups, queue three eggs, hatch by distance and inherit the stats that matter.
Breeding in Roco Kingdom is a queue, not a slot machine. You unlock the home, place two compatible Jinies in adjacent nests, and let the egg cook in real time while you play. The strategy is deciding which pair deserves the queue, not clicking the button more often.
This guide covers the system as documented in the Chinese launch version. The global beta may change unlock levels, timers and inheritance rules; those points are marked beta / unconfirmed.

Unlock the home first
In the Chinese version, breeding is gated behind the home, which unlocks around player level 30 after you advance the Wizard Handbook's academy chapter. The home sits below the windmill farm area. You cannot breed before the home exists, so do not save eggs or plan pairs during the first session.
The progression guide covers the level bands. The practical rule: if you are below 30, spend your time on story and handbook progress, not on capture projects for breeding.
The pairing rules
The Chinese version's requirements:
- Two adjacent nests in your home.
- One male and one female Jinie.
- Both parents in the same egg group.
- The offspring's species follows the mother's base form.
That last rule is the one players get wrong. If you want a specific species, the mother must be that species or its base form. The father contributes stats, egg group compatibility and variant odds, not the species.
A single compatible male can pair with several females over time. Build a small stable of males across the egg groups you actually use instead of chasing a perfect pair for every project.
Timers and the three-egg queue
Reported Chinese-version timers:
- Egg production takes between 0.5 and 20 hours, depending on the pair.
- You can incubate up to three eggs at once.
- Hatching progress is based on in-game distance traveled, including flight.
- Taking an egg out of incubation resets its progress.
The distance rule is the important one. Hatching is not a login timer; it is a movement timer. If you are doing a map sweep or a story route, the egg progresses. If you stand in town, it does not.
Plan the queue around activity:
- Start three eggs before a long play session.
- Do story, dailies or a map sweep while they incubate.
- Collect when the distance requirement is met, then restart the queue.
- Never pull an egg early to "check" it; the reset costs more than the information.
Egg grades and what they mean
The Chinese version distinguishes several egg categories, including perfect eggs, story eggs, self-selected prismatic eggs, prismatic eggs and variant eggs. The names are translation-dependent, so treat the categories as tiers of control rather than exact labels:
- Guaranteed or story eggs: fixed outcomes, usually tied to progression.
- Selected eggs: you choose the target species or variant.
- Random variant eggs: a chance at a special appearance, with no guarantee.
Do not spend a rare egg on a species you will replace in two days. Save the controlled eggs for a Jinie that fits your long-term team, and use random eggs as lottery tickets.
Inheritance: what actually passes down
The Chinese-version reports agree on the broad strokes:
- Better parent talents improve the offspring's talent range.
- Variant or prismatic parents increase the chance of the corresponding egg.
- A friend-blessing egg can inherit the friend's Jinie's nature and individual values.
The exact formulas are not public and may change. The strategic conclusion is stable: breed from the best parent you have, not from the most convenient one. A mediocre pair produces a mediocre queue, and the timer cost is the same either way.

A breeding plan that fits a real schedule
Before level 30
- Do not breed.
- Capture one male and one female of the species you might use, if the opportunity is free.
- Keep notes on natures and talents you see, but do not invest.
Level 30–40
- Unlock the home and place two nests.
- Start with one project: a species that fills a hole in your main six.
- Use the best talents you own, even if the nature is not perfect.
- Run the queue during story and daily sessions.
Level 40+
- Add a second project only when the first produces a usable result.
- Use controlled eggs for the carry you will awaken.
- Keep a friend-blessing egg in reserve for a nature-sensitive build.
The daily routine already includes an egg-collection step. Breeding is designed to run in the background; do not turn it into a second game.
What not to breed
- A cosmetic variant with no team role. It costs the same timer as a functional project.
- A species you cannot level. An egg is a promise of future investment, not a finished unit.
- A pair with no compatible male. Check the egg group before you start the timer.
- A "perfect" project before the beta wipe. The egg disappears with the account.
Breeding is the clearest example of beta-only knowledge. Learn the pairing UI, the timer and the distance rule now; do not expect the egg to survive launch.
Where to go next
Breeding competes with coin farming and resource planning; the daily routine shows where eggs fit.

FAQ
When does breeding unlock? Around player level 30 in the Chinese version, after the home and the academy handbook chapter. The global beta may move it.
Can two males breed? No. The Chinese version requires one male and one female in adjacent nests.
Does the mother decide the species? Yes, the offspring follows the mother's base form in the Chinese version.
How long does an egg take? Between 0.5 and 20 hours to produce, then additional in-game distance to hatch.
Can I hatch faster by flying? Flight counts as in-game distance in the Chinese version, so a flying mount is a legitimate hatching tool.
